How the app works

Safety in three
simple steps.

All the functions you need to feel safe

01

Build your Inner Circle

Add the people you trust most — friends, family, roommates or teammates. They're the ones who'll be there when you need them.

02

Check-in

Share your live route on the way home or after a date. Your circle automatically sees that you're travelling safely — and that you arrived.

03

Alert Your Inner Circle

Feeling unsafe? One swipe of the ASAP button instantly sends your location and instructions to your circle — or emergency services.

Our story

I want us to be the last generation that feels unsafe.

Yeline Hoogmans, founder of ASAP Safety

My name is Yeline, and I believe that safety is a fundamental human right.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where many people face violence, sexual intimidation, and assault. These experiences leave us (especially women and gender non-conforming individuals) feeling anxious and unsafe in our day-to-day lives. I wish we didn't have to constantly look over our shoulders or change the way we dress just to minimize risks.

That is why ASAP goes beyond providing a safety app. While our app gives you all the essential safety functions right at your fingertips, our true goal is to build a community. We want to contribute to a cultural movement where everyone feels accepted and secure.

I want to provide people with practical tools and clear information on how to create a safer world for ourselves and each other. I truly believe that every person can make a difference; you just need to know how.

Through our community, we organize engaging activities and facilitate open dialogues with men, women, and gender non-conforming people. By building genuine connections, we can drive cultural change together. We need everyone on board.

Let's make it happen, together.

Safety should not be a privilege because it is a human right.

Get in contact

Is ASAP a replacement for emergency services?

No. If you are in immediate danger, always call your local emergency number. ASAP helps you quickly alert your own trusted contacts and share your location.

Who can see my location?

Only the contacts or circles you choose during an active ASAP alert or check-in. Your location is not continuously shared with everyone.

What happens during a check-in?

You choose a time and the circles that may follow along. If you do not respond in time, your chosen contacts automatically receive an alert with your location.

Can I decide who receives alerts?

Yes. With Safety Circles you organise contacts by situation, such as family, friends, work or study. For every alert, you decide who is active.

For what reasons can I use the ASAP Alert function?

You can use the ASAP Alert whenever you feel unsafe, anxious, or simply want extra peace of mind. It instantly alerts your trusted network so you never have to navigate an uncomfortable situation alone. Common situations include: Commuting alone: Biking or walking home through dark, quiet, or unfamiliar streets. Waiting in public spaces: Standing alone at a bus stop, train station, or late-night venue. Needing a safe exit strategy: When someone approaches you or makes you feel uncomfortable, and you need a quick reason to step away or have a trusted contact call you immediately. General peace of mind: Any time you feel uneasy about your surroundings and want your inner circle on standby.

Does ASAP work when my phone is locked?

ASAP uses notifications, location and internet. The app helps you turn on the right permissions so important features can work as reliably as possible.
